Italy

So we are back from Italy and omg it really was an amazing trip. It was so much better than i expected, not that i thought it was gonna be bad but really, it was so good. We got to do so many things during only three short days. This was mostly because of Matteo who help us so much with our trip. Thank you :D
 
What did we do then?
 
We saw the leaning tower, two times. Guess what, its true what they say, its leaning. Since Pisa is very small you can easily go and see it two times in one day :D Pisa is a beautiful city, it is small but its really nice. Got some great cafés and restaurants there and just has a nice and cozy vibe.
 
 
    
From Pisa we moved to Volterra, to have our nerdy time. Yes, it is were a part of the Twilight Now Moon is shot. The scenes with the Volturi, guess where the name comes from? How cleverish ;-) Speaking of Twilight, guess what i am doing tonight. Oh yes, i am seeing the premier of the Breaking Dawn P2, nerdy time no.2. Amy, you and me goin full on tonight ;)
 
 
Next stop on the way is San Gimignano, a nice small city in the middle of Tuscany (i think, i wasnt the one driving so what do i really know?). Altough when we got here we were exhausted and didnt have much energy to see much of the city (town?) itself. We did have a very, very long day.
 
The last destination was finally Florence, from all the big cities we ended up in quite big (oh well, bigger) city, an actual city with real shops, like H&M!! Holy christ, that is something we are so missing in Malta and you know what, here another thing that we are missning in Malta:
 
 
Its real, real green grass :D
 
 
 
 
 
In Florence we drank wine, eat food, walked around, drank wine, got wet from the rain, drank wine, dancing in the rain and drank some more wine, again ;-) Yes, we did discover the beauty of Tuscany ..

Pisa / Florence

Tonight is the night, we are off to Italy. The long way, all the way to Italy, 1 hour and 45 minutes. Whoohoo :D Its gonna be amazing with some real vacation for once, i haven't had that in a very long time, feels longer than it is though but still long enough.
 
So we are goin to Pisa and to Florence, start in Pisa for one day and then move to Florence for another two days. This is what we are goin to do:

Sweden in the fall

So its been some busy times lately, had to go to sweden for my sick grandpa and unfortunately i have to go back soon again since he passed away.
 
It was great comin to sweden before, i had the feeling that grandpa was really sick so i just booked the ticket to sweden without telling anyone. Except my dad who came to pick me up at the airport, thank you :) I just love surprising people and i could always do it everytime i get home, the look on peoples faces its, -i cant even put a word for it. Its unforgettable for sure. I love all of you 
 
It is just so beautiful in Sweden aswell,
the fall is there and all these colours are
amazing, its not like Malta thats for sure.
 
I never really saw it before, but being
away it opens your eyes in a different
way.
 
The best thing about Sweden thou,
its still the food, i know but i cant
help it. I love the food there, ok i
love the pizza but that is also food.
Right?
 
In only two weeks ill be on my way
there again, but this time its very
different, there is one person missing.
 
At the same time i will see people that
i havent seen in a very long time. Its gonna
be a small roadtrip, Sthlm, Gbg and in the
end ill get to my town :)
 
Before i go all the way up north im gonna explore Italy :D Charlotte and me are finally goin somewhere else but on this island. Taking the flight to Pisa and then we are spending the time in Florence. Ive got a feeling that its going to be loads of wine and food. I dont mind at all. For once im acutally goin on a real vacation, no hustle with anything, just go and enjoy, i cant wait to get some time of :) I do wonder how the leaning tower in Pisa really is, we are about to find out. What if i falls when we are there?
 

I am going to start with the photo of the day, i think, this is just a tryout ;-) As i know that i dont always (never) stick to my ideas. It will be photos found in my hard-drive, i do have loads of pictures there. Anyways, if your lucky i might even put a small story with the photo.

India- Gokarna/Ohmbeach 2011. "There was a lovely night down by the sea, we had an open fire and sitting on the beach drinking rum and singing songs. Yes the rum was the "Old monk". My friend next to me asks me, Annika to you want to go for a swim? I look out over the sea and i see hugh waves moving and they are coming up on the beach. Affected by the old monk i did not see the danger and i say Yes of course :-).
When i came into the water i tried to swim the best i could but it was so difficult. Suddenly there was something else in the water, it was the evil dophins that came. Red evil eyes looking at me, staring at me. The dolphins came to an attac and i fought for my life to free myself from these evil creatures. I managed to escape, alive but i had this black eye that reminded me of this attac for several weeks"

Holidays? Yes!

Its time, its really time for a holiday now. Did you know that ive been in the same place for 5 months now? In the same small island and in the same area. It feels abit wierd that ive been so long here now in the same place. Feels like i just got here, although at the same time it feels like i never left Malta in the first place. Anyways- I need a holiday and i need it now, like yesterday. Just need to get away for a while, no special reason or so, i just need to see something new and go somewhere, anywhere else than here. I do have 3 days off this weekend so thats a good time to go somewhere, at least for a day or two :) We will see about that, its just wednesday still.
 
Tomorrow i have my second class in maltese, yes i started last week with my courses :) Im really excited about this and i think that i will learn quite alot from my courses, i just have to make sure that i can go on all of them. Change my shift every thursday so that i can go, of course i am schedule to work at that time. Now lets see what i might learn tomorrow ;-)
 
Now there is alot of things goin on now, in these coming days, yes i actually did check my calendar and its packed with parties and farewells. Virrg is gonna leave the island soon and hun its gonna be so empty without you here but im sure that Australia is gonna be great :) I did notice that halloween is coming up aswell, gotta dress up for that ;) Great with costumes, i wonder what i shall be this year?
 
Checking out flights here, tryin to find something cheap and for just a few days in October/November. I think its gonna be Italy, its close and its cheap. Lets see about that ;-) Too bad Amsterdam its much more expesive than Italy, and well obviously since its abit further away, but still.
 
Oh, new episode of Sons just came out :-D over and out....

India 2011-2012

Its been one year, one whole year since we got off that plane in Mumbai-India. That moment when we got off the plane, looking around, feeling lost, getting out of the airport and find ourselfs a rickshaw, wtf is a rickshaw? Who drives this thing? What is this place? Where are we goin? What are we doing here? Holy shit....
 
Who could have known that this trip was gonna be so amazing and with so many amazing people to see and places to go to. Every day i wanna go back there, well ok -not everyday, some things over there were not that good, but most of the time :) There are so many things that I did for the first time and heres some of it:

(Almost) Got struck by lightning
First Blackeye in my life
Saw a scorpion
10 days of silence and meditation
Bungyjump!
Spend 8 hours in Saudi Arabia, making henna on my hand
 
and its go on, and on, and on, and on....
 
So many great places and the first place we got to after Mumbai was Aurangabad and then we stayed in Maharastra for quite some time, its still my favourite destination of them all, and Hampi, Vata, Andamans, Kolkata, Pushar and the rest of the country.
 
Thanks to all of you, the great people that ive met on the way, we will meet somewhere soon again ;)

Regular day

Ive been thinking about blogging all day but just couldnt think of what to write down here. Ive been off today so i had all the time in the world to write a small not here but, what to do when the mind is empty ? I did do the fun stuff thou, regular, everyday, normal stuff like cooking and washing. Great times! I did have plans, no not really plans just an idea that i was suppose to take advantage of my day off and make the most of this day. Naaah, really, who does that ? Oh well, next time..

My frappe was disgusting

Yesterday evening, ah ok, last night, well not really, this morning (yes- we went out pv) Charlotte and me planned the best breakfast/lunch/snack/drink. Poor girl had to start working at 8 this morning, and since i am such a good friend and start at 12 today i wake up 10 minutes earlier to go to KFC and buy a Frappucino "Krusher", one for each of us. I was really longing for this frappe and i was dreaming about it all night.... Not really, think it was about penguins actually.
 
When i wake up, i make my way to work and stop at KFC-YUM there it is, the Frappe! I get two, one for me and one for Charlotte (ok i got a burger as well) and continue my way to work. A few minutes before 12 im at the office with a bag of burgers and krushers, and a big smile of course :D (not really) I hand a krushers to Charlotte and we both take a sip and sit down. Time is 12:00
 
After a few minutes we both realized that none of us were really drinking the frappe, we look at eachother and just says,
"No its not good today is it?"
"Its too much coffee, its too strong and just disgusting"
"Lets put some milk inside, maybe that will help"
....

Study!

I just found out today that im gonna start maltese courses. I signed up a while ago and today i finaly get the answer. Hopefully ill get to learn some at least. Im not expecting much, is it run by the Sliema council so ok, but as long as im gonna learn some i think im gonna be fine there :) Its not like i expect to learn how to spell correctly in maltese, who does that?
 
Now i just finished the new episode of Sons of Anarchy and omg its insanely excited and sad. Im not gonna be a spoiler here for those who have not seen it yet. But jeezzz its crazy, im glad its back on again, i waited forever for the new season (not really but it feels like it)
 
Thinking of goin somewhere now for the fall but i still cant decide of where im suppose to go. Its just gonna be for a few days but still i wanna go somewhere good and where i dont have to pay alot for the flight.
Amsterdam? Sicilly? Pisa? or who knows, somewhere else maybe? I vote for Amsterdam but the flights are not that cheap to that place. Ah we will see, time will tell.. ill end up just stayin here ;)
 
Its crazy how much i miss India over here, not just India as a country but the people i met there, all of you. Its what makes the whole thing so wonderful. Its never gonna come to that same thing again but id still go back there are try it out :) Im not supposed to go to India any time soon but who knows, i might be back there way earlier than planned.

Since im off today i should have time to throw in an update here :)
What do you do on a day off? So far, i did nothing and i think the rest of the day might look exactly the same. Altough i should at least go for a swim, specially when the water is still "warm" enough, in October, not bad at all. ;-)
 
Last week my sister found out that shes gonna have a babygirl! I am just so thrilled about this and i think that i have to go shopping, just a little bit. Not every day you get a niece. Ill probably have a whole suitcase of things here that i can bring to Sweden in January. Cute dresses and hats and all there is (not pink).
 
The last fullmoon for the summer just passed as well, we had a great night down at Tuffieha with amazing people. Of course its not the last one of the last, obviously the full moon is still gonna come and we will still be watching it every month, but for summer-its the last. I dont really think that its gonna be summer still in the end of October.
 
Its quite nice now when you can go to bed, wrap yourself up with a blanket -without sweating :D I think i like the winter abit. Im gonna take that back in a few months just so know, cuz i really dont like the winter. Honestly, i really really really dont like the winter here. Peoplewise and all thats around is great, but the cold? Noo, big no no, i cant do it. Not good when i comes to cold stuff like that. Come on i get goosebumps on the hottest day of summer if theres a small wind..
 
Time for breakfast or is it break fast?

It's amazing to wake up in the morning, look around and you realize (i already know but i dont always think about it) that you are next to the water. Hell Malta is a big rock of course ur surrounded by the sea !? Jeezzz...

Summer in Malta

This summer is coming to an end, the summer has been so short but still it feels like its been forever at the same time. I had alot of time to, i dont know-do alot of things. Alot of visits from friends and family. What am i suppose to do now when the summer is coming to an end? This is the answer:

I just realized that i can rent a car here on this island and actually see and go where i wanna go. So thats my new "hobby" down here, cruise around the rock.
 
Im really happy in my life at the moment, its like im re-living Malta again and doing everything like ive seen it all for the first time. Feels like that. Still wanna continue the traveling thou, Malta is not goin anywhere. But for now im gonna settle for a weekend somewhere. Still not sure where, Amsterdam? London? Barcelona? Sicilly? Somewhere else?
 
My baby-sister was here the other week aswell with her boyfriend Andreas, amazing days. It was so good to see her, specially since i wont see her until January when she is due. On Friday I (ok-we) will know if its a babygirl or a babyboy, auntie Annika is so excited :D

Moments in life

I believe that the small things in life are the ones that matters the most. I had a great (very short) moment earlier today. Nothing big but it still gives you the smile that keeps you for the rest of the day (well, at least for a while).
 
This morning i left home to go to the denist, btw well done-thank you. I was walking next to a big road "Malta big road" and was about to cross the street by a crossing. There is a car comin from both ways, so two cars comin.. Then, from nowhere theres a ball comin, bouncing in the middle of the street, it was one of these fake-football balls, red with black patches. I think it came from the sky... Anyways, both of the cars just stops-chocked by the situation and the big bouncing ball coming from nowhere.
 
Then, this ball-situation is over and the ball is instead rolling down the street, between the cars (i dont think its round anymore). I realize that its over and decides to actually cross the streeet now, about time. This is when it happens: On the other side of the street there is this old woman standing and she has been watching the same thing as me and when our eyes met, we understood that we both saw the same thing and had the same thoughts about this ball-situation. We look at eachother, smiles and just laughs. That one moment when we smiled and laughed just made my day. Small things do matter.
 
This thing took maybe 3-5 seconds.
 
 
Today is also a very special day-a totally different thing. Tonight there is a Blue moon, not just a Full moon :) Its gonna be a good night/morning at ghajn tuffieha with amazing people.

Im just so excited about everything now.
Its crazy that Erika is becoming a mom and that she is coming here soon.
 
The little alienkid is just soo cute! 
 
Even though im an auntie already its just so new and its just so exciting. Im gonna spend my whole salary buying babystuff. Probably in the colour green, id guess. Still dont know what sex it is, but im guessing a girl :D
 
In 1½ week my lovely sister will come here and im gonna get to spend some time with her and Andreas. (when im not working)
 
Still being busy here with lovely people around me, its a good time of life :)

Rock-A-Doodle

Someone said, or someone was singing Rockadoodle (it sounded like that) and it made me think about the movie with the same name. Havent seen it sice i was a kid and it was sooo nice to see the movie again after all these years. The songs of the movie are just great, ill probably watch it every night before i go to bed..

Stupid me

I know that i can do stupid things sometimes but really, this? How smart is it to push a tops (cotton stick) inside the ear-really hard so that half of the face goes numb. I thought that my brain was gonna drip out of my ear. So far it didnt happen and lets just hope it stays like this. Smart

This is the only interesting thing that is happening in my life at the moment.

Next time i might write about something which is actually interesting, Maybe

I might go see a doctor (one who knows a thing or two about ears)

I am doing this again !

Long time no see i know, so about time i post a thought or two. Well nowadays im back on the rock Malta, working again and just setteling down abit after the India/Nepal trip- i needed this for abit. I love the traveling and i miss it loads but for now this is exactlly what i needed. And when the bankaccount says big No-no to traveling, yeah its time to work and maybe even stay in one place for a while..

Im even starting over down here, i think.. Kind of. Working at a new place now, new flat and mostly new everything, starting to see Malta in a different way than i did before and its amazing down here, there are places/things here that i never even realized existed. I just wasnt interested about it before.

Oh YES- Today is the day, the one day we have all ben waiting for (at least i know me and my family has). It is the Handball olympic finals and Sweden is in it. Omg, this is so exciting !!! Dont forget- 4pm Handball Sweden-France. We are gonna kick some baguette ass today!

Anyway, this is good for now- time for breakfast, or was is break fast, slow??
im not gonna say that im gonna keep up the blog this time

Btw-These comin weeks are gonna be busy busy with people comin.

17th August:
Hannah and Benji is comin here for a few days and its gonna be so great to see you guys again. I said goodbye to Hannah on a street in Pokhara-Nepal in March and we didnt know when we were gonna see each other again, who knew it was gonna be on a tiny rock in the mediterranean ;)

19th August:
Yes Sabina, ur gonna be in my blog to! Welcome back to the rock (soon) its gonna be great to have u back here :D

21st August:
Nira and her friend is dropping a visit on the rock again and gonna stay here for a week, its gonna be nice to see her, its been like forever now since last time.

8th Septemer:
My one and only baby-sister is comin to me :D Shes arriving with her lovely boyfriend and father of her future baby, Andreas. I cant wait to see my pregnant sister. I asked her what she wanted to do when she is comin. "I just want to eat alot of good food". Oh yeah, we are the same me and her...

crazy time...

Its crazy how time flies here, we have been to the same place now like 10 days and well i can just say that i doesnt feel that long. And, we did nothing at all here.. Well thats a part of the experience, as we always say.

So whats going on here now. Christmas passed, we didnt really see the christmas that much , at all.. But it was christmas. We saw some drunk indians on boats out on the sea, dont know how it ended for them though, didnt look safe, at all.

Tomo were gonna move on to a new place, to Kovalam, just gonna stay there a night or two before we head down to the peak of this country :)

It feels like this india trip is commin to an end, we have been here more than half of the time now.. In like 2-3 weeks we are gonna be on a flight to Andaman islands (OMG!!! YEEESSSSS) and when we get back to the mainland after that we have only 1 month left, CRAZYY!! How did that happen? Oh well, it didnt happen yet , but still!

After India we will see what happens, for now the "idea" is to go to Nepal for a while, maybe 2 months and then the next step will be taken after the money, if there is any money.. Theen we "will" go to Austraila and hopefully get a job there somewhere. So for now it doesnt look like we are heading back to sweden/malta/europe for a while. But then again, you never know what happens, we will see.

Still everything is good over here and enjoying life :) as always. Miss my family and my friends alot! Love to u all!

God Jul!

Helt galet, helt plotsligt blev det julafton, vet inte hur detta gatt till. Har inte alls hangt med har. Det gick lite val fort och helt plotsligt vart det julafton. Snart blir det val sakert ett nytt ar med pa det, galet...

Har nere blir det inte mycket till jul iaf. Det finns ju en del kristna dar vi befinner oss just nu men det syns inte sa mycket och inte mycket juligt har inte. Vi kommer nog att spendera dagen nere pa stranden har. Vad gor man annars en solig dag som denna? Detta ar ju lite som vilket dag som helst, kanner inte av nagon jul har inte.

Onskar dock att jag hade kunnat vara hemma idag och varit med min familj, men inte iar inte. Det far bli en annan gang. Saknar er dar hemma otroligt mycket och hoppas att ni far en superdag. Ta verkligen hand om varandra (alltid, inte bara idag) och ha en superhelg!

So i thought it was time for another update - 2 months later :) Yeah ive been busy. So today im by the beach and the weather is really bad so what to do than this hehe.

Lots of things happend since last time i wrote, of course. Its been two months so yeah ive seen some things and been to a few places, lived in new rooms , 18 of them, but whos counting.

So:

We stayed in Goa for a while in Anjuna, Arambol and Palolem. It was nice to have a beachbreak and just, swim in the sea, get some sun, play some poi and just do whatever we wanted. Met Anna from sweden a lovely girl whom we traveled with for a while. My Cissi came down to Palolem and spend a week with us, it was so nice to see her again :) We did some yoga classes aswell but yeah that kind of stoped when we left. Lazy...

After Goa we took the night bus to Hampi, special place and i just love it. Saw alot of tempels and just chilled, a good place to chill out. All these rocks are just amazing and i just cant figure out how they got here. The stories about that the hindu gods did some stuff so that they came here, naaah dont really belive it .

Hampi

After a few days in Hampi we went on to Gokarna and Om beach. On the bus we met Davide and Benjamin whom we got stuck with for a while there . This is so far the most relaxing place we have been to , we didnt really do anything at all, just went with the flow. Drank rum and had lots of food. Yum. But of course after a while u get tired of the beachlife, time to head inland.

Had some intense days inland in Banglore, Mysore and in Wayand district. It was some really good days here. Long walks in the big city, Cinema to see a bollywood movie (in Hindi), sightseing in Mysore and Jeep safari in Wayand. We saw elephants, bambi, turtles, bisons and some more thing, quite nice :)

Continued to Fort Kochin where we met up Benji (still traveling with him now, got stuck) where we walked the streets of Kochin for a few days. Got to Alappuzha after this to another beach but we were here to do other things. Go backwaters. These comin days were very interesting. Tried to find a boat, didnt really managed but went on the ferries and checked a little bit backwaters. Eventually after sleeping on the beach and wondered around back there we managed to get a canoe and did a day trip.

/Now we are in Varkala. So this is the short story of where we have been.

Well im gonna try upload some photos so u can just check them out there, they will say more than this :) Feel abit lost now and i have no idea what im gonna write here but anyway.

India is amazing and i love it :)

  • Alright, so i found a computer and its the first time i actually have some time to post something in my blogg. Its so hard to write everything that happened these last days (two weeks) so i wont. U wouldnt wanna read that much anyway so. Well we have noticed some things these days:
  • There are cowes everywhere, on the streets, beach, house. Well everywhere.
  • Everybody:
Vobbles their heads
Loves cowes (almost)
(ladies) wears Sarees or similar indian dress
Eats with their hand (right one)
Stares at tourists, Us (except in Goa)
Wants to take pictures of the tourists (us)
  • So we started of in Mumbai but its just wat to big there so we didnt wanna stay there to long. Its nice though to walk the streets of Colaba and around in Mumbai, but only for a few days. Stayed there for 3 nights and then we moved on. Most people goes to Goa straight from Mumbai, but not us. We wanted to go somewhere else aswell. So the next days after this we have been the only tourist in the city, and maybe even the first one.
  • We took the train to Aurangabad to see the Ellora caves, we actually did see some tourists there, WOW :) Stayed here for 2 nights and then moved on to Pune (Poona).
  • Didnt wanna stay here at all, way to big of a place so we left straight away with the bus. We wanted to go to a place called Raigard, that we saw in the book ;) and yeah, afterwards we got to know that i wasnt even that place but whatever. Ended up in a small town called Mahad that wasnt even on the map, noone spoke english, they had no electricity and yes everbody did stare. Probobly the first tourists ever here. Had to stay one night cuz guess what, no busses :P
  • Managed to get to Raigard the day after, and wow it was a fort on top of a hill, had to take a rope to go there, really really really high up. Thought that we were gonna fall down on that thing. But well still alive. Almost got hit by lighting up there aswell. Which in the end we didnt of course. Close enough to feel the electricity though.
  • Headed to Mahabaleshwar (what a name) after this. Wanted to go pick berries on farms. Guess what. The season did not start yet, no berries at all. Still a lovely place to visist :) What did we learn here?: Never open and try eat a banana where there are monkeys nearby. maybe u could guess how thats gonna end.


  • Wanted to go to a place called Ganpatipule, looked nice. Well yees, we were to only tourists again ;). Its not bad to be the only tourist, not like that but peole look at you in this weird way and you feel like ET. Left this place after 2 days.


  • Yesterday we got to Goa and we like this place alot, its not like india at all it feels like a different country, we will probably stay here for about 3 weeks, not more, maybe.... if we do not get lost here and stay for months..  Cant wait until Cissi gets here!!!
All for now. gnna try do to this more often if possible so i dont have tooo much to write ;)
